MEET OUR PASTOR

Pastor Will Bonds, a Texas native, is the founding lead pastor of the Vertical Church, one of the fastest-growing nondenominational Christian churches in San Antonio. An anointed pastor and teacher, he has a heart for God's people and encourages every person he meets to pursue their God-given purpose.

Before he was called to pastor the Vertical Church, Will Bonds was an ordained minister and worship pastor in several ministries and a national gospel recording artist for more than 30 years. His love for music and worshipping God influenced many under his leadership. They have become leaders in their trade, accepted their calling to preach the gospel, and have planted churches because of his continuous leadership, love, and support.

From 2010 – 2016, Pastor Will worked as a Language Arts Teacher at a designated Title I school within the North East Independent School District. During his time there, he was nominated for Teacher of the Year two years in a row by his principal and peers and was part of a collaborative team of teachers that aimed to close the educational gaps of at-risk students who had fallen behind. This experience fueled the passion behind the Vertical Kids Early Learning Academy that opened in August 2023.

He and his wife, Kimmery, have been married for 30 years and are blessed with a son (Brynton), two daughters (Jordan and Autumn), and one granddaughter (Mia).
