OUR HISTORY

In 2013, Vertical Church began its incredible journey with the call of Pastor Will Bonds. It all started with a vision to create a place of worship that would bring people together and build a strong, faith-based community. Pastor Will along with “The Twelve,” the first Vertical Partners, laid the foundation for what would become a transformative church experience.

In July 2013, Vertical Church was officially established as a nonprofit corporation with the State of Texas. This marked a significant milestone in our journey, allowing us to operate as a recognized entity dedicated to spiritual growth and community service. During this foundational period, our leadership underwent intensive training in worship, prayer, fasting, sowing, and preparing for what we called “Launch 5.” These efforts set the stage for the impactful ministry work that was to follow.

March 22, 2015, was a historic day for Vertical Church as we held our first public worship service. This event was the culmination of countless hours of preparation, prayer, and support from our community. Leading up to this first service, our partners generously contributed over $50,000, demonstrating their commitment and belief in the vision of Vertical Church. This support was crucial in enabling us to establish a strong foundation for our worship and community activities.

Today, Vertical Church stands as a testament to the power of faith, community, and dedication. We are proud to be recognized as a 501(c)(3) organization and one of the fastest-growing new multicultural and multigenerational churches in the city. Our journey from a small group of passionate believers to a vibrant, thriving congregation is a story of perseverance, divine guidance, and unwavering commitment to our mission. As we continue to grow, we remain dedicated to serving our community, spreading the message of love and hope, and creating a place where everyone can experience the transformative power of faith.
